Engineering Manager (Hands on)

Fully Remote – UK Based

£110,000 – £120,000

Are you a passionate and experienced hands on Engineering Manager ready to lead and innovate? My client, a market-leading web trading technology company, is looking for a Engineering Manager to join their dynamic team!

This is a fantastic chance to take their build and release engineering practices to the next level, directly contributing to high-performance web trading apps. You’ll report to the CTO, managing a team of talented full-stack Engineers and playing a pivotal role in developing and deploying core platform capabilities.

What you’ll be doing:

• Developing and deploying apps and platform capabilities.
• Guiding development direction and ensuring top-tier coding, design, and quality standards as a squad tech lead.
• Managing and mentoring full-stack Engineers, fostering growth and performance.
• Collaborating on architectural development and technology choices.
• Optimising development, test, release, and deployment processes.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Proven experience as a Senior Full Stack Developer, Tech Lead, or Engineering Manager.
• Experience with operational aspects of software engineering, including deploying and operating at scale, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
• A proactive mindset, consistently seeking to improve products and processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical, data-driven approach.
• Proficiency in a recognised programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java).
• Preferred Skills: TypeScript, NextJS/React, AWS (Lambda/Step Functions, Postgres/Dynamo, CDK), Jest, Playwright.
