Job summary

Boden Group in Greater London is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the site engineering delivery on a hard services contract. You will oversee the engineering team, drive recruitment and development, and ensure maintenance work meets KPIs and SLAs.

You will have budget responsibility, manage P&L and contract performance, oversee subcontractors, and engage senior clients to review financial and contractual performance. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience as Contract Manager or Senior Supervisor in hard services.
• Proven recruitment and line management experience.
• Knowledge of ACOPs, fire and environmental controls, and health and safety legislation.
• Strong budget and contract performance management.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Degree or HND level education preferred.
• Experience in wider facilities management is advantageous.

Job description

An Engineering Manager is required in Greater London to lead engineering delivery across a hard services contract, ensuring critical systems remain available and planned and reactive maintenance meets agreed KPIs and SLAs.

The role combines leadership of the site engineering team with direct budget responsibility, contract performance, subcontractor management and senior client engagement.

The Role

• Lead the site engineering team, including recruitment, development, appraisals and succession planning.
• Ensure planned and reactive maintenance is completed within contractual KPIs and SLAs.
• Manage contract budgets, P&L performance, monthly reporting, variations and additional works.
• Maintain critical systems and equipment standards while supporting business continuity requirements.
• Ensure statutory, company and client health and safety requirements are consistently met.
• Manage subcontractor performance through regular reviews and ongoing contract oversight.
• Maintain strong client relationships and present contractual and financial performance to senior stakeholders.

About You

• Managerial experience at Contract Manager or Senior Supervisor level within hard services.
• Proven recruitment, line management and engineering team supervision experience.
• Current knowledge of ACOPs, fire and environmental controls and health and safety legislation.
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and contract performance.
• Excellent communication, presentation, motivational and influencing skills.
• A good general education, ideally to degree or HND level.
• Experience delivering wider facilities management services would be advantageous.
