R3vamp is seeking an Engineering Manager for Frontend to lead a growing team in London. The role is hybrid (1-2 days on-site) with a salary band of £100k–£130k and a comprehensive package, including annual salary reviews and a learning & development budget.

The candidate will divide time 70/30 between leadership/architecture and hands-on coding, overseeing 4–5 Team Leads, directing frontend strategy, architecture, tooling, and ensuring timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar.
• 10+ years in production frontend applications.
• 3+ years in management responsible for leads/seniors.
• Ownership of Technical Strategy, Planning & Deadlines.
• Hands-on experience in frontend architecture and systems design.
• Strong hands-on skills in React & TypeScript.
• Experience scaling engineering teams in startups (5–50+ engineers).
• Understanding of Python Web Frameworks beneficial (Django/FastAPI).

Job description

I am delighted to be working with an existing client that is looking for a key hire to join their engineering team as the Engineering Manager of the Frontend. My client is an AI Series-backed start-up that has scaled their engineering team whilst maintaining a fantastic work environment and culture, and providing a supportive and clear career progression platform. This is a hybrid role in London, 1-2 days a week, alongside the existing Engineering Team. You can expect a salary in the region of 100-130k plus an amazing package including annual salary reviews, learning & development budget, health/medical and more.

As the Frontend Engineering Manager in this role, you will work a 70/30 split of leadership, architecture, development and team growth vs hands-on programming. You will be responsible for 4/5 Team Leads who have their own projects and teams to manage, enabling them to learn, support and guide them in their personal leadership journey. Be responsible for the team's technical delivery and working with other engineering teams, manage the technical direction and operations/strategy around frontend architecture system design, tooling and more, ensuring quality and delivery is on time.

As the Engineering Manager, I am looking for:

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar
• 10+ years of industry experience in production frontend applications
• 3+ years in management specifically responsible for team leads, seniors or similar
• Ownership of Technical Strategy, Planning & Deadlines
• Deep hands-on experience in frontend architecture
• Strong hands on skills in React & TypeScript
• Experience working across the full development lifecycle with cross-functional teams & Senior Leadership/Management
• Experience in scaling engineering teams within a startup preferred from 5-50+ Engineers
• Understanding of Python Web Frameworks beneficial (Django/FastAPI)
