Operating from five strategically located depots (London, Leicester, Gloucester, Nantwich, and Durham), we are expanding fast and were now looking for an experienced Service & Engineering Manager to take the lead in maintaining high service standards across our engineering teams.

Youll be mobile-working across our UK depot network, playing a key role in driving customer satisfaction, compliance, service excellence, and operational efficiency.

As Service & Engineering Manager, you will:

  • Lead, develop and coordinate a growing team of field engineers.

  • Oversee compliance with industry regulations and internal safety standards.
  • Monitor KPIs: first-time fix rate, 12-hour response targets, and breakdown reduction.
  • Build training and succession plans to scale the department as we grow.
  • Work closely with depot teams and departments including Transport, Logistics, and Hire Desk.
  • Lead quality control initiatives in line with ISO 9001.
  • Prepare performance and compliance reports for senior leadership.

What Were Looking For:

  • 5+ years experience in engineering or service-based leadership roles
  • A strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks (IOSH preferred)
  • Experience in mobile assets, ideally towable welfare units
  • Proactive, analytical, and hands-on leadership style
  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally

Why Join Welfare 4 Hire?

  • £40,000 £45,000 salary (DOE)

  • 24 days holiday + bank holidays
  • Company pension scheme
  • Health cash plan
  • Eye test reimbursement
  • Refer a friend scheme
  • Be part of a growing, forward-thinking business backed by AER Rents Group

What Success Looks Like:

  • 3 Months: Master our service systems, build engineer schedules, implement mechanical compliance at key depots.
  • 6 Months: Full departmental autonomy, introduce improved KPIs and process plans across the business.
  • 12 Months: Deliver service improvements, lead a high-performing team, and ensure full compliance across all assets.
