Job summary

Rubix Group is seeking a proactive Engineering Workshop Manager to lead the workshop team responsible for the repair and overhaul of valves and related components. The role focuses on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction within a busy industrial environment.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage resources, and work closely with sales and operations to grow the business while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading an engineering workshop or similar team.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair operations in an industrial setting.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills under pressure.
  • Strong commercial awareness with ability to manage KPIs and budgets.

  • Ensure compliance with HSEQ policies and safety standards in workshop and site operations.
  • Manage workshop performance to achieve P&L targets, including revenue growth and gross margin.
  • Act as senior technical and operational contact for customers, maintaining strong relationships.
  • Drive continuous improvement through lean processes and engineering best practices.
  • Allocate engineering resources to maximise productivity and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Operations to support business growth and new opportunities.

Job description

  • Lead and develop the engineering workshop team to deliver high-quality repair and overhaul services for Valves, PRV's and Control Valves. Valve assembly packages.
  • Ensure full compliance with all HSEQ policies, procedures, and safety standards across workshop and Insite operations.
  • Manage workshop performance to achieve P&L targets, including revenue growth, gross margin, and operational efficiency.
  • Act as a senior technical and operational contact for customers, delivering effective solutions and maintaining strong client relationship.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through lean processes and best practice engineering standards.
  • Allocate engineering resources effectively to maximise productivity, service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with sales and operational teams to support business growth, customer visits, and development of new opportunities.
    Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop engineering teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering repair operations within an industrial environment.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to make sound operational decisions under pressure.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing workshop performance, KPIs and financial targets.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with customers, stakeholders, and cross functional teams.
  • Organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in IT systems, engineering software SolidWorks, Draftsight and Revit. Reporting tools with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
