Salary – £70k – 75k

Shift Pattern – Days

The Company

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Manager to join our growing client who is one of the largest UK manufacturing businesses in the process of opening a brand-new facility.

ATA is working with one of the UK’s largest manufacturers looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join their team in Birmingham. The company, which turns over £400 million per annum, has over 30 manufacturing sites across the UK.

The Role

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • The development and promotion of Company, Factory, and Team plans through effective communication and focused implementation to achieve defined objectives.
  • People management, motivation, and structured development of the team through performance reviews to ensure delivery of objectives through teamwork.
  • Provision of engineering and technical expertise to facilitate the rigorous application of IMS tools and techniques to generate Continuous Improvement across all areas of the manufacturing capability.
  • Managing a team of 20 plus engineers, team leaders, and engineering shift managers.
  • Analysis of data from the system.
  • Root Cause Analysis.
  • Identification of areas of improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement.
  • Implementation of LEAN manufacturing principles from above analysis.
  • Oversee installation and upgrade projects.
  • Ensure all contractors have Work Permits.
  • Running appraisals, 1-2-1s & recruitment.
  • Staff Training.
  • H&S Compliance within the Engineering Department.
  • Running Management Meetings.
  • Compiling reports for Senior Managers on OEE, PPMs, Breakdowns, and Improvements.

The Candidate

To be successful as an Engineering Manager in your application, you must have the following skills, abilities, or qualifications:

  • Previous experience working as an Engineering Manager or Maintenance Manager.
  • Experience in an Automated or Semi-Automated Production Environment.
  • A recognised Engineering Qualification.
