Job summary

Omega is launching a new Engineering Maintenance Planner & Stores Lead role in North Yorkshire/York area. You will own the journey from engineering stores organisation through to maintenance planning, driving structure, visibility and control across the engineering department as part of a major site transformation programme.

The role offers ownership, autonomy and exposure to senior leadership, with emphasis on planning, contractor management, asset reliability and continuous improvement within

Qualifications

• Experience with maintenance CMMS platforms (SAP, Shire, Piranha, Agility, Maximo or similar).
• Background in engineering maintenance planning or stores management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the engineering stores function.
• Implement robust stock control and critical spare management.
• Build and develop the site's maintenance planning processes.
• Schedule preventative maintenance activities around production requirements.
• Coordinate contractors, permits and engineering activities.
• Reduce maintenance backlog and improve work order completion.
• Support future CMMS implementation and system migration projects.
• Manage engineering purchasing and spare parts control.
• Create asset registers, maintenance schedules and equipment histories.
• Coordinate weekly shutdown activities and larger maintenance outages.
• Produce engineering KPIs and planning performance reports.
• Work with engineering and operations teams to improve reliability.

Omega is recruiting for a newly created Maintenance Planner & Engineering Stores opportunity within a well-established, market-leading process manufacturing business, currently undergoing significant investment and transformation.

This is not a role where you'll walk into a mature planning function!

Instead, you'll have the opportunity to own the journey from engineering stores organisation through to maintenance planning, helping create structure, visibility and control across the engineering department whilst playing a key role in a major site transformation programme culminating in the launch of a new CMMS, warehouse management system and SCADA platform.

The Opportunity - Engineering Maintenance Planner & Stores Lead

Working alongside and reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll become the focal point for engineering planning, stores management, contractor coordination and CMMS development.

The site is currently at the start of its maintenance planning journey, with a significant opportunity to introduce best practice, improve work scheduling, increase planned maintenance activity and develop a world-class engineering stores function.

You'll be joining at an exciting time with ££multi- million of site investment planned and major upgrades scheduled across operations.
