Engineering & Maintenance Manager – Energy from Waste


Up to £70,000 + bonus + benefits

MC Technical Recruitment is currently recruiting for an Engineering & Maintenance Manager to join an energy from waste power station in the Cardiff area. Using state-of-the-art technology, this plant processes around 425,000 tonnes of waste per year, generating enough electricity to power over 68,000 homes.


As the Engineering & Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the maintenance function, including a team of multi-skilled technicians, ensuring plant downtime is minimized.


Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Managing and directing a team of mechanical, electrical, and C&I technicians to ensure minimum plant downtime and maximum availability
  2. Planning and executing plant shutdowns/outages
  3. Managing the department's maintenance budget
  4. Overseeing the management of the maintenance schedule
  5. Developing and maintaining records of plant maintenance, including work orders, PPMs, and outage and inspection reports
  6. Overseeing on-site contractors

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  1. A minimum of an HNC in a relevant engineering discipline, ideally mechanical
  2. At least 5 years of experience in maintenance/engineering within a relevant heavy process industry, ideally power, but industries such as chemical production or aggregates are also relevant.
