Job description

Job Role: Engineering Maintenance Manager

Job Reward: £55k - £60k Target area plus Pension & Package

Function: Factory Maintenance Engineering Leadership role - onsite, Monday to Friday

Location: Wakefield Leeds border - easy M1 M62 access

Client: Category market leader in FMCG Manufacturing, undergoing expansion and investment

Contract Type: Permanent, Primarily ONSITE


Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, a large site with multiple factory production units. You are the new Engineering Maintenance Manager!

Leading 15+ craft engineers. This will suit an experienced Maintenance Manager. You could also be an aspiring Maintenance Manager or Engineering Shift Manager who is ready for a bigger challenge.

Leading the maintenance engineering technical change agenda for the factory/plant, to improve line performance, World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles - TPM.

Key Responsibilities - Engineering Maintenance Manager
  1. Ensure engineering resources (people/headcount) and technical skill set is maximised.
  2. Owning a multi-million engineering budget.
  3. Develop and implement a preventative maintenance (PM) program.
  4. Manage corrective maintenance activities.
  5. Standardize maintenance procedures.
  6. Drive engineering performance improvements, lead projects, manage multi-million-pound budgets, and lead your teams to strive for world-class engineering & Maintenance excellence.
  7. Develop autonomous maintenance programmes - subject matter expert in maintenance.
  8. Continuous improvement and reengineering in everything you do.
  9. Develop a maintenance strategy with the factory management, to ensure that the productive capacity of the plant is optimised and improved for the ever-changing needs of the business.
  10. You will create, implement, and manage the engineering maintenance strategy.
  11. Monitor operational efficiency of all plant and equipment, identifying areas of under-performance or opportunity and improvements and implement a maintenance strategy.
  12. Project Management: Manage maintenance-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget.
Qualifications and Requirements - Engineering Maintenance Manager
  1. Experience in delivering maintenance improvement projects.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance leadership role.
  3. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful maintenance programs.
  4. Strong understanding of preventative and corrective maintenance practices.
  5. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.
  6. Experience in leading technical frontline maintenance, services, and project teams.
  7. Track record of using advanced manufacturing techniques (E.g. WCM/TPM/Lean).
  8. HNC/HND within an engineering discipline.
  9. Track record of delivering continuous improvement.
  10. Engineering and maintenance leadership at a middle management level in a manufacturing, FMCG, Process or automation environment - open on industry, if you are a good leader!
