Engineering & Maintenance Manager - Energy from Waste

Up to £70,000 + bonus + benefits

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Engineering & Maintenance Manager to join an energy from waste power station in Bristol. This plant processes over 400,000 tonnes of waste per year generating enough electricity to power around 95,000 homes. The Engineering & Maintenance Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating the maintenance function, including a team of multi-skilled technicians, ensuring maximum plant availability with minimal downtime.

As the Engineering & Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for:

1. Managing and directing a team of mechanical, electrical and C&I technicians to ensure minimum plant downtime and maximum availability
2. Planning and executing plant shutdowns/outages
3. Managing the department's maintenance budget
4. Overseeing the management of the maintenance schedule
5. Developing and maintaining records of plant maintenance including work orders, PPMs and planned and unplanned outages and inspections
6. Overseeing on-site contractors
7. Deputising for the Plant Manager when required

To be considered for this role you should have:

1. A minimum of a HNC in a relevant engineering discipline, ideally mechanical
2. At least 5 years of experience in maintenance/engineering in a relevant heavy process industry, ideally power generation but industries such as chemical production, aggregate or similar. Royal Navy Marine Engineers at Chief PO level will also be considered
3. A solid practical understanding of boilers, steam generation, pressure parts and associated equipment
4. Ideally experience with managing a team/department budget
5. Experience in a management or supervisory level role
6. An IOSH or NEBOSH would be preferred but isn't essential
