Job description

Heatsense Cables Limited Team based in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. The core business of Heatsense Cables is the manufacture and supply of specialist high performance cables that operate in extreme environments. The company offers a full technical, design support and bespoke manufacturing service. Markets include Automotive, Aerospace, Nuclear, Medical, Industrial, R & D, and Oil & Gas.

Responsibilities:
  • Operating cable manufacturing equipment in line with process specifications.
  • Monitoring the production process for signs of deviation from prescribed standards and correcting such deviations where appropriate.
  • Reporting significant deviations to production coordinators or managers and seeking support for resolution of process issues.
  • Keeping the working area clean and tidy.
  • Updating computer systems with manufacturing data to reflect work completed and materials used.
  • Conducting prescribed health and safety checks relating to the work area.
  • Communicating clearly with fellow operators at shift handover to advise the status of the work schedules and the condition of the equipment.
  • Completing handover to oncoming shift team members.
  • Undertaking training across various machines and processes as required.
  • Completing timesheets and/or production sheets as required.
  • Training will take place both on-site at Heatsense and weekly day release at the Rochdale Training.
Employment Details:

Progression offered to the correct candidate. Full-time employment will be offered to the candidate if they pass the apprenticeship and factory training.

Working hours: Monday to Thursday, 7.00am to 3.30pm (½ hr dinner, unpaid). Friday, 7.00am to 3.30pm. These times are to coincide with the lead operator who will be training the operative.
