About the role:

We are currently seeking an Engineering Lecturer in Welding & Fabrication to join our Engineering department at The Bedford College group.

As an Engineering Lecturer, you will:

  1. Teach and assess a range of Engineering courses, following college policies and procedures.
  2. Deliver practical, workshop-based, and classroom-based training using diverse teaching techniques.
  3. Plan and prepare teaching programs for individuals and groups.
  4. Develop specific teaching materials for your courses.
  5. Act as course tutor and monitor student progress.
  6. Participate in assessment and quality assurance activities.
  7. Create a stimulating learning environment using various teaching strategies and ILT resources.
  8. Complete necessary documentation for accreditation, funding, and records.
  9. Collaborate with learner support staff to ensure inclusive education.
  10. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and equality policies.
  11. Participate in staff development and quality standards activities.
About you:
  • Have at least a Level 3 qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Have GCSE grade A-C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics or be willing to achieve this within a year.
  • Possess teaching, assessing, or tutoring experience in Engineering.
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality learning experiences.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Commit to promoting the College’s reputation and professional standards.
  • Hold responsibility for safeguarding and maintaining appropriate relationships with students.
