Job Title: Engineering Lecturer

Location: London

Contract Type: Temporary, Part-Time and Full-Time Opportunities Available

Hourly Rate: Up to £42 per hour


About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Engineering Lecturer to join our academic team on a temporary basis, with both part-time and full-time opportunities available. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching across a range of engineering disciplines, supporting learners to develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across engineering subjects such as mechanical, electrical, or general engineering
  • Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments in line with curriculum standards
  • Monitor and support student progress, providing constructive feedback and academic guidance
  • Maintain a safe and effective learning environment, especially in practical/workshop settings
  • Participate in quality assurance processes and contribute to curriculum improvement
  • Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to enhance course content and student employability

Requirements:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related discipline
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed) or willingness to work towards one
  • Industry experience in an engineering field (mechanical, electrical, civil, etc.)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to inspire and support a diverse group of learners

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching in a further education or training environment
  • Assessor and/or Internal Verifier qualifications (e.g., TAQA, A1, V1)
  • Knowledge of current engineering technologies, tools, and industry trends
  • Experience with apprenticeships or work-based learning delivery
