Job summary

Mitie Group in Portsmouth is seeking a Senior Electrical Team Lead to oversee electrical maintenance and reactive works across three client sites. This hands-on supervisory role combines technical leadership with compliance responsibility to deliver safe, efficient operations.

The role requires leading a small team of engineers, managing subcontractors, and ensuring works align with RAMS, schedules, and site policies. On-call duties and a full UK driving licence are expected.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in electrical installation, maintenance and repair work.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work.

Job description

ROLE: Senior Electrical Team Lead
HOURS: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday (with on call) - 7:30am - 4pm
LOCATION: Portsmouth (3 sites)

This is a hands-on supervisory role, combining technical expertise with leadership and compliance responsibility.

Role Responsibilities

• Supervise and deliver electrical maintenance and repair works across multiple client sites.
• Ensure all planned preventative maintenance is completed in line with schedules and contractual requirements.
• Lead, manage and support a team of engineers, ensuring compliance with Mitie and site Health & Safety policies.
• Supervise subcontractors, ensuring works are carried out in line with RAMS and site rules.
• Monitor performance against KPIs and actively participate in training, appraisals, and development activities.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role:

• City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent electrical qualification
• Ability to obtain SC Clearance

• Strong experience in electricalinstallation, maintenance, and repair work
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work or relevant compliance understanding.
• IT literacy, with the ability to accurately record work and documentation.
• Willingness to join a call-out rota and hold afull UK driving licence.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, ECS/ECC and IOSH Managing Safely (desirable)
