Job summary

Saputo Dairy UK is seeking an Engineering Lead for the Wensleydale Creamery site in Hawes. You will lead the Engineering team, manage maintenance and facilities, and drive site performance in line with EBITDA targets. You will report to the Plant Leadership Team and champion LEAN and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will guide resource allocation, budget control, staff development, and regulatory compliance across HSE, GMP and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or Chartered Engineer or equivalent level; minimum HND.
• 5+ years senior management experience within FMCG/food manufacturing.
• Experience in process/packaging and regulatory requirements (FMCG).
• Strong Lean, TPM or CI experience and problem-solving skills.
• Budgeting and IT literacy with monitoring of KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team to maintain plant, buildings and facilities safely.
• Develop and deliver the maintenance plan and budget.
• Drive site performance improvements and reliability using MPS/CMMS data.
• Coach and develop staff while ensuring HSE, GMP and food safety compliance.
• Collaborate with Plant Leadership Team to achieve production goals.
