The Opportunity:
We're hiring an Engineering Lead to oversee technical governance and infrastructure processes for a high-profile customer programme based in Basingstoke. This is a visible and influential position requiring a strong foundation in infrastructure and automation, combined with the ability to lead teams, drive standards, and ensure consistent high-quality delivery across complex environments.
As the most senior technical point of contact on site, you will take ownership of documentation quality, process compliance, and CI/CD pipeline performance-ensuring all infrastructure and deployment practices meet operational and governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
As the Engineering Lead, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing leadership over infrastructure delivery processes, with a focus on automation and deployment
• Ensuring consistency and quality of all technical documentation, including high- and low-level designs (HLDs/LLDs), architecture records, and system governance artefacts
• Conducting code and deployment pipeline reviews and ensuring automation practices follow best-practice standards
• Supporting infrastructure teams with tooling, process alignment, and architectural decisions
• Driving compliance with internal frameworks and ensuring governance procedures are understood and adopted across teams
• Acting as the senior technical representative on site, collaborating across disciplines and maintaining alignment with programme goals

What We're Looking For:
The ideal Engineering Lead will bring both a strong technical foundation and the communication skills to influence process and culture across diverse delivery teams.
Essential Skills & Experience:

• Strong infrastructure background-Windows and/or Linux (ideally both)
• Experience managing and reviewing CI/CD pipelines
• Automation knowledge with tools like Python, Ansible, PowerShell, BASH, or similar
• Experience with infrastructure or network architecture, particularly around system design and documentation
• Confident leading teams through governance and compliance initiatives
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical teams and stakeholders alike
• Eligible for DV clearance (Sole British Citizenship required)
