"Electricity is such a vital component in everyone's lives. It powers schools, businesses and hospitals, so I knew that if I did my placement within EDF then I would have a really large impact on society, and that made my placement a lot more fulfilling. Priyanka, Science and Engineering Industrial Placement."
This Engineering Industrial Placement is expected to begin in early September 2027 and offers a starting salary of 26,050, alongside the opportunity to work at Hinkley Point C, one of the UKs most significant energy infrastructure projects.
During this 12-month placement, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and safety-focused environment. Working alongside experienced professionals, you’ll contribute to major projects while developing technical, analytical and collaborative skills within a business that’s driving the transition towards An Electric Britain.
You’ll be based at Hinkley Point C, where you’ll be part of a team driving progress on one of the UK’s most significant energy projects. Transport to the Hinkley Point C site is provided from several collection points. This on-site placement provides the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of large-scale engineering and construction activities while working closely with project teams and stakeholders.
To be eligible for this EDF Industrial Placement, you need to be studying towards, or have already achieved, a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Construction, Nuclear, Instrumentation and Control, Structural, Chemical, Technical, Process Engineering, or a closely related discipline. You'll have an interest in engineering, technology, and the future of low-carbon energy.
To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.
Alongside a starting salary of 26,050 per annum and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customizable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.
