EDF Energy invites applications for a 12-month Engineering Industrial Placement at Torness Power Station in Scotland. You’ll apply academic knowledge to real-world challenges in the energy sector, learning from experienced professionals on-site.

The role offers a starting salary of £26,050 per annum and opportunities to contribute to safety campaigns, radiation protection and condition monitoring across our operational sites.

Qualifications

• On track to achieve or have achieved a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Engineering.
• Right to work in the UK is required; sponsorship may be possible but priority to those with the right to work.
• Security Vetting criteria include UK residency for the past three of the last five years.

The OpportunityThis 12-month placement offers a starting salary of £26,050 and the chance to work at our #Torness Power Station in Scotland.

You’ll apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges in the energy industry. From safety improvements to radiation protection and condition monitoring, this placement offers a wide range of learning opportunities that will help you grow professionally and personally.

What You’ll ExperienceDuring your Engineering Industrial Placement, you’ll work on projects that previous students have found rewarding. These include supporting safety campaigns, exploring radiation protection in new power stations, and helping maintain condition monitoring programmes across operational sites.

You’ll be part of a collaborative team, applying your engineering skills to practical challenges and gaining insight into the operations of a nuclear power station. This is a chance to build your confidence, develop technical expertise, and make a real impact.

Your Work LocationYou’ll be based at our #Torness Power Station in Scotland (EH42), where you’ll work on site and connect with colleagues across the business.

Who You AreTo be eligible for this EDF industrial placement, you need to be on track to achieve, or have already achieved, a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering , Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Chemical Engineering.

It is a requirement that those who join us have the right to work in the UK. Whilst sponsorship may be a possibility, we reserve the right in our decisions to give priority to those who already have the right to work in the UK.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting, which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least three of the past five years.
