EDF Energy is offering a 12-month Engineering Industrial Placement at the Torness Power Station in Scotland. The role provides real responsibilities, learning opportunities across safety, radiation protection and condition monitoring, and a chance to grow both professionally and personally.

You will work on-site at Torness, apply your engineering knowledge to real-world energy challenges, and be supported by experienced professionals within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Requires 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate Engineering degree.
• UK right to work is required; sponsorship may be possible but preferred for those with the right to work in the UK.
• Security Vetting may be required, usually needing UK residency for at least three of the past five years.

Responsibilities

• Support safety campaigns and engineering projects at a nuclear site.
• Assist radiation protection initiatives and condition monitoring programmes.

The Opportunity

This 12-month placement offers a starting salary of £26,050 and the chance to work at our #Torness Power Station in Scotland.

You’ll apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges in the energy industry. From safety improvements to radiation protection and condition monitoring, this placement offers a wide range of learning opportunities that will help you grow professionally and personally.

What You’ll Experience

During your Engineering Industrial Placement, you’ll work on projects that previous students have found rewarding. These include supporting safety campaigns, exploring radiation protection in new power stations, and helping maintain condition monitoring programmes across operational sites.

You’ll be part of a collaborative team, applying your engineering skills to practical challenges and gaining insight into the operations of a nuclear power station. This is a chance to build your confidence, develop technical expertise, and make a real impact.

Your Work Location

You’ll be based at our #Torness Power Station in Scotland (EH42), where you’ll work on site and connect with colleagues across the business.
