Job summary

Manucomm Recruitment Ltd is seeking a practical Engineering Handyman / Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a cider operation in Somerset. The role is part-time, 32 hours across Monday to Thursday with Fridays off, working 7:30am–4:00pm in the Taunton area.

You will fix production machinery, assist with agricultural equipment, welding, carpentry and basic building maintenance in a varied, hands-on environment. The position suits someone who enjoys fixing things, solving problems and getting involved

Qualifications

• Comfortable with basic electrical tasks
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a cider production environment

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance and repairs on production equipment
• Maintain cider production machinery and related systems
• Repair agricultural and farming equipment as needed
• Engage in welding, fabrication, metalwork and lathe work
• Carry out carpentry, woodwork and basic building repairs
• Handle basic plumbing tasks and facility maintenance
• Contribute to general handyman duties and site improvements
• Undertake basic electrical tasks and fault finding

£15–£18 per hour | 32 hours | Monday–Thursday | Friday OFF / Taunton area | 7:30am–4:00pm

A hands-on role where no two days are the same.

We're looking for a practical Engineering Handyman / Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our team in beautiful Somerset surroundings.

This is far from a typical maintenance role. You'll support a small successful cider production operation, but because the business has many different facets, your work will be incredibly varied.

One day you could be repairing production machinery; the next you might be fixing agricultural equipment, welding, fabricating, carrying out carpentry, basic plumbing or helping with building and facilities maintenance on a large hospitality area

• Mechanical maintenance and repairs

About you

We're looking for someone with good mechanical experience and a practical, can-do attitude.

You don't need to be an expert in everything, but experience in several of the following would be ideal:

• Mechanical maintenance
• Welding
• Fabrication
• Metalwork
• Lathe work
• Carpentry
• Plumbing
• Building repairs
• Basic electrics

This could suit a Multi-Skilled Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Engineering Technician, Agricultural Engineer, Workshop Engineer, Engineering Handyman or experienced Maintenance Technician.
