Engineering Geologist | Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Projects | Dorset

TGRC is excited to offer an opportunity for an Engineering Geologist to join our team, focusing on renewable energy and infrastructure projects. This essential role is based in Weymouth, offering a chance to contribute to sustainable development in a dynamic environment.

Position Overview

• Duration: 12-month fixed-term contract
• Location: Weymouth
• Experience: Previous experience in energy projects beneficial
• Compensation: £45 per hour

Job Responsibilities:

• Geological Mapping and Sampling: Conduct field investigations to collect rock and soil samples and create detailed geological maps.
• Site Investigation: Lead site assessments, oversee drilling and sampling activities.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze geological data using specialized software, prepare reports to guide engineering and construction.
• Risk Assessment: Identify geological risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Project Collaboration: Work with engineers, environmental scientists, and project managers to incorporate geological factors.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure activities comply with environmental laws and standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field.
• Experience as an Engineering Geologist, preferably in renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
• Proficiency in geological software and GIS technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting.
• Legal right to work in the UK.
