Job summary

A well-known consultancy in Sheffield is seeking an Engineering Geologist to work on various large and residential projects. This role includes extensive on-site responsibilities, report writing, and offers support towards completing your Chartership while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have a geology/earth science degree and experience in interpretative report writing.
• Must live within commutable distance of Sheffield and hold a full UK driving license.

Are you looking to join an established multi-disciplinary consultancy?

We are looking for an Engineering Geologist to join the team in Sheffield. You will get the chance to work on a range of different projects from large infrastructure to residential.

You will be involved in a variety of different responsibilities from office to site. On site you will be carrying out soil sampling and monitoring, borehole logging, supervising drillers, and geotechnical testing. The role will also involve writing phase 1 desk study reports, phase 2 interpretative reports and conducting coal mining risk assessments.

You will be working alongside chartered senior and principal engineers and will be supported through to complete your Chartership.

As the Engineering Geologist you will also help mentor junior/graduate ground investigation engineers.

We are looking for somebody that follows the criteria below:

• Holds a geology/earth science degree
• Lives within a commutable distance from the Sheffield office
• Holds a full UK driving licence
• Has experience with interpretative report writing
