Matchtech is assisting a leading geotechnical consultancy to recruit a Site Engineer for a permanent position in Coventry. You will contribute to fieldwork, laboratory testing and reporting, supporting high-quality site investigation services.

The role offers a structured Engineer Training Scheme with clear progression towards chartership, plus in-house and external training to build technical and professional competencies within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in site/ground investigation or related field.
• Relevant qualifications.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from planning to fieldwork, lab testing and reporting.
• Conduct research, investigation, testing, monitoring and evaluation of site-specific engineering behaviour.
• Undertake site investigations related to soil, rock, groundwater and man-made materials.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety requirements with training provided.
• Develop skills across ground investigation including report writing and project planning.
• Progress towards chartership through structured training scheme.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage projects from initial planning through to fieldwork, laboratory testing and reporting
• Conduct thorough research, investigation, testing, monitoring, reporting and evaluation to aid in understanding site-specific engineering behaviour
• Undertake site investigations related to soil, rock, groundwater and man-made materials
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety requirements with the necessary training support provided
• Develop skills across all aspects of ground investigation, including report writing, project planning and commercial understanding
• Work towards clear progression goals designed to align with the training scheme and pathways towards chartership

Job Requirements:

• Experience in site/ground investigation or a relevant field such as Earth or Environmental Science, Geology, Geography, Civil Engineering or similar
• Relevant qualifications
• Enthusiasm and a keen interest in learning
• Ability to integrate with and enhance an existing strong team
• A full UK driving licence.
