Jackson Geo Services is expanding, and we're looking for a talented Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer who specialises in ground investigationto join our growing team. If you have 2-3 years of ground investigation experience and are ready to tackle challenging, large-scale schemes, this could be your ideal next step!

We're at the forefront of the industry, taking a 100% digital approach to data collection and project management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our innovative ground investigation capabilities while working with cutting-edge technology.

What You'll Do

You'll play a vital role in supervising and reporting on ground investigations, supporting our existing operations. We're looking for someone who can work independently, produce high-quality professional work, and is eager to advance their career in ground engineering.

Your key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Supervisingground investigation crews and projects, including various drilling rigs, trial pitting, and pavement inspections.
  • Logging all recovered materials to relevant standards.
  • Assisting with factual and interpretive report writing.
  • Conducting in-situ testing and monitoring.
  • Sampling gas and groundwater using a range of techniques.
  • Working flexibly across the UK, predominantly on-site, including staying away at short notice. Occasional weekend and night work may be required.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Full UK Driver's License.
  • Fluent in English with the right to work within the UK (sponsorship is not available for this role).
  • Computer literate.
  • Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all seasons.
  • Well-organised, responsible, and reliable.
  • Able to pass industry training requirements such as CSCS.
  • Willing to work in line with safe work methods and undertake basic risk assessments.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Geology/Earth Science/Geotechnical Engineering degree.
  • At least 18 months of experience in Ground Investigation.
  • Proficient in logging soil and rock to BS5930.
  • Valid CSCS card.
  • Streetworks Operative Card Holder.
  • Enthusiasm for working outside all year round!
