Job summary

Hampton City Schools is seeking a Technology & Engineering Education teacher for grades 10–12 at Hampton High School. The position supports a 10-month term with immediate start and a salary scale based on credentials and experience.

The role emphasizes project-based instruction, engineering design, prototyping, robotics, programming, and 3D modeling, aligning classroom work with real-world engineering careers.

Qualifications

• Must possess or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with endorsement to teach at the assigned grade level.
• Excellent organizational, planning, communication and human relations skills.
• Strong knowledge of secondary curriculum, methods, materials and equipment.
• Ability to plan and implement lessons aligned to division and school objectives.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements an instructional program with appropriate learning experiences.
• Collaborates within a professional learning community to sustain accelerated student achievement.
• Manages student behavior to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Coordinates instructional activities with other staff to maximize learning opportunities.
• Participates in staff development, meetings, and curriculum development activities.
• Assesses student achievement and maintains documentation for reporting.
• Communicates with parents about student progress.
• Communicates with students, parents, and professionals to support involvement and a safe learning space.
• Performs related duties as required.
