Job summary

develop, a global technology partner, seeks a Director of Software Engineering to lead a 60–80 person engineering organisation across multiple Scrum teams. Hybrid work arrangement with weekly presence in Nottingham and London.

You'll drive the technology strategy, oversee platform modernisation and AI adoption, manage Engineering Managers and senior leaders, and partner with international stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable software at scale.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale software engineering organisations.
• Proven ability to deliver AI initiatives to production.
• Strategic thinking with ability to engage in technical decisions.
• Experience guiding Engineering Managers and senior technical leaders.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Engineering Managers, Architects and software teams
• Own delivery across multiple product areas and engineering functions
• Drive engineering strategy, operational excellence and capability
• Support major platform modernisation initiatives
• Expand and scale AI-driven capabilities across products
• Manage engineering risk, incidents and escalations
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across regions
• Drive continuous improvement in software delivery
