A leading Global Engineering Services Provider is looking for an experienced Engineering Design Manager in Belfast. This hybrid role focuses on managing engineering delivery teams on advanced defence projects and requires proficiency in communications and problem-solving. Ideal candidates should possess a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience, ideally with backgrounds in aerospace or military engineering.

Qualifications

  • Significant demonstrable experience acceptable if lower qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full V-lifecycle ensuring best practice adherence.

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Design Manager to work with our client, hybrid attendance at Belfast. In this role the successful candidate will be managing engineering delivery teams working on cutting edge defence products.

We are looking for an energetic and driven individual with broad expertise, however of particular interest would be candidates with aerospace or military experience.

The Engineering Delivery Manager will perform, but not be limited to the following type of activities centred on the development and delivery of cutting-edge defence products:

Responsibilities
  • Oversee engineering delivery, ensuring projects remain on track and within budget
  • Manage full V-lifecycle, ensuring adherence to best practices
  • Develop and maintain engineering plans, tracking progress and milestones
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, minimising impact on delivery
  • Solve problems proactively as they arise
  • Seek opportunities for project efficiency and improvement
  • Manage projects predominantly sitting in the Hardware domain
  • Strong communication skills to work across boundaries and maintain stakeholder engagement
  • Ability to remain level-headed under pressure, ensuring smooth project execution
Qualifications
  • Degree level qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline. A lower qualification would be acceptable for example HNC/HND should the candidate be able to demonstrate significant demonstrable experience in lieu
