Job description

This is a fantastic career opportunity for someone with engineering project management experience to join a highly collaborative and supportive team in our Capital Maintenance Projects and deliver modern and innovative solutions to our operational sites.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of capital projects, providing MEICA and Civil engineering construction solutions for wastewater, water production, waste, and water network functions, both above and below ground.

What you will be doing as an Engineering Delivery Manager

We are seeking a commercially astute and motivated individual to provide MEICA and Civil Engineering construction solutions across Thames Water's process and network functions on both Clean and Wastewater Assets. Your responsibilities include ensuring health and safety requirements, quality standards, contractual specifications, commercial objectives, and program deadlines are met.

Main areas of focus include:

• Being an integral part of the growing Capital Maintenance Projects team.
• Managing procurement processes, framework suppliers, and subcontractor supply chains involved in site-based construction activities.
• Being directly responsible for resource management and the training, development, and support of Project Engineers.
• Providing estimates, programming, and planning support to the wider team.
• Ensuring all construction projects are delivered on time and meet client specifications.
• Managing site requirements to minimize operational impact.
• Delivering projects in compliance with legislative, CDM, and regulatory requirements, including Health & Safety, Environmental, and HR standards.

The role is based at Maple Lodge in West London, with travel across the area required.

Hours of work are 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

We’re looking for you to:

• Have experience in a commercial and technical role, preferably with a degree or HND in engineering or business administration, along with post-qualification experience.
• Have an understanding of civil engineering works, contract law, planning, estimating, and tendering.
• Have a proven track record in project management within an engineering environment, with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and ICA systems.
• Manage procurement processes and supply chains involved in site-based construction.
• Be responsible for resource management and team development.
• Provide estimating, programming, and planning support.
• Ensure project delivery aligns with client specifications and legislative requirements.
• Manage stakeholder relationships internally and externally, overseeing up to 10 staff members.
