Job summary

Avara Foods is seeking a Degree Engineering Apprentice at our Brackley site. You will combine on-the-job training with university study toward a Level 6 Manufacturing Engineering Degree from the University of Northampton over a four-year period.

You will join a high-performance engineering team, benefiting from mentoring, structured placements, and a competitive starting salary as you develop mechanical and electrical skills in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including Maths, English and a Science/Engineering related subject.
  • A Levels at grade C or above inMathematics and a Science/Engineering related subject or 90+ credits in an Engineering BTEC at level 3 (e.g., MMM 96 Credits) or T Level - Pass (C and above).
  • UK/EU/EAA residency for past three years or more prior to starting the course.

Responsibilities

  • Factory and office based role as part of the apprenticeship.
  • Gain practical experience while attending University of Northampton on scheduled days.
  • Participate in structured apprenticeship placements across the site for rounded development.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

As an Engineering Degree Apprentice, we are looking for a driven and ambitious person to join our team. To be successful you will:

  • Be enthusiastic and well-disciplined as our degree apprenticeship is heavily focused on attitude and behaviour
  • Exhibit initiative and be passionate for innovation and technology
  • Be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills
  • Have high analytical capability with the ability to think logically
  • Have the ability to think logically and to work both independently and as part of a team
  • This programme is designed for those with A-levels or equivalent, but no degree. Applicants that do not have the below qualifications may still meet the entry requirements based on their work experience and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
To Be Eligible, You Need
  • Have 5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above, including Maths, English and a Science, Technology or Engineering related subject.
  • A Levels at grade C or above in both a Mathematical based subject and a Science, Technology, Engineering or additional Mathematics related subject or 90+ credits in an Engineering BTEC at level 3. ( for example MMM 96 Credits) or T Level - Pass (C and above)
  • Have been a UK/EU/EAA resident for the past three years or more prior to starting the course
Other important things to know about our Apprenticeships before applying

We have a duty of care to our colleagues and wouldn't want you to spend a large amount of time commuting, so we require our Apprentices to be based within a reasonable radius of their site location.

You’ll need to have the permanent right to stay and work in the UK.

You’ll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment, which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf-life products where hygiene standards are critical.

The role is both factory and office based.
