Our client based in Newcastle is looking for an Engineering Coordinator. This role is on an initial one-year contract based outside IR35.
Key responsibilities, accountabilities, and decision ownership:
- Provide technical coordination between engineering teams, acting as the interface between design organisations.
- Monitor programme and report on deliverables progress.
- Support coordination of internal assurance and review activities.
- Monitor supplier performance and assist in managing via contractual mechanisms.
- Chair and record meetings ensuring actions are logged and followed up.
- Support the Principal Designer's Representative in chairing and coordinating hazard reviews.
- Liaise with construction teams to prioritise design activities.
- Coordinate technical queries between site team and design office.
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
- Minimum 3 years' experience within a Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering discipline.
- Effective communication skills with diverse audiences including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently within time constraints.
- Knowledge of applicable county, province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Accredited degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Fluent in English.
- Knowledge and experience of AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Full UK driving license.
Desirable:
- Experience in delivering power or transmission infrastructure projects, or projects within heavily regulated environments.
- Experience working with BIM models.
