Role Description

Reporting to the site Asset Care Manager, this role manages an engineering team to execute the Asset Care Strategy, ensuring equipment performance is maximized and optimized.

This role supports and guides the engineering team, providing tools and skills to execute strategies efficiently and supports operational teams with Asset Management activities.

As part of the Engineering function, the role aims to achieve operational efficiency at the lowest cost by delivering targets aligned with strategic objectives:

  1. Safety
  2. Cost
  3. Delivery
  4. Quality
  5. People

Work closely with the Asset Care Manager, Engineering, and Operational teams to support manufacturing strategies.

Key Responsibilities
Safety, Quality, Hygiene
  • Follow safety, environmental, and quality procedures responsibly.
  • Adhere to H&S policies like Lock Off and Tag out, Permit to Work system.
  • Demonstrate safe behavior and manage health & safety of the team and contractors.
  • Investigate accidents and Near Misses.
  • Maintain GMP standards and food safety policies.
Asset Care Management
  • Collaborate to develop effective maintenance plans, providing feedback for improvements.
  • Drive team to meet maintenance and reactive work targets.
  • Support production activities and meetings.
  • Utilize SAP PM and other systems for planning and control.
  • Manage spares inventory and stock levels.
People Management
  • Manage, motivate, and develop the team, setting performance targets.
  • Recruit and coach staff, ensuring skills development.
  • Handle HR policies, including return-to-work and discipline.
Continuous Improvement
  • Promote 5S, GMP, and other tools to improve quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Review and improve performance continually.
Communication
  • Coordinate with support functions to meet production and HR goals.
  • Maintain effective communication within the team and with other departments.
Role Requirements
  • HNC in a relevant engineering discipline, with proven success in results and change management.
  • Operational experience in a fast-moving manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG.
  • Knowledge of SSOW, team management, and union dealings.
  • Understanding of World Class Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in SAP, MS Office, and Project.
  • Strong communication skills and practical understanding of factory services.
