Role Description

Reporting to the site Asset Care Manager, this role involves managing an engineering team to execute the Asset Care Strategy, ensuring equipment performance is maximized and optimized. The role provides support and guidance to equip the team with the necessary tools and skills, supporting operational teams with Asset Management activities.

This position aims to achieve operational efficiency at the lowest cost by focusing on:

Working closely with the Asset Care Manager and other teams, the role supports the delivery of manufacturing strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Safety, Quality, Hygiene
  • Adhere to safety, environmental, and quality procedures, including Lock Off and Tag Out, Permit to Work systems.
  • Promote safe behavior and manage health & safety of the engineering team and contractors.
  • Investigate accidents and Near Misses.
  • Maintain GMP standards and ensure food safety, legality, and quality standards are upheld.
Asset Care Management
  • Collaborate to develop effective maintenance plans and improve them based on work and failure analysis.
  • Ensure delivery of maintenance schedules and reactive work.
  • Use SAP PM and other systems for planning, recording, and controlling work.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and stock levels.
People Management
  • Manage and motivate the team, set targets, and conduct regular coaching and reviews.
  • Recruit, develop, and ensure team skills meet operational needs.
  • Handle labor contracts and ensure discipline and adherence to standards.
Continuous Improvement
  • Promote 5S, GMP, and other improvement tools to enhance quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Review performance regularly and implement improvements.
Communication
  • Coordinate with support functions to meet production and HR goals.
  • Maintain effective communication within the team and across departments, including shift handovers and maintenance logs.
Role Requirements
  • HNC in a relevant engineering discipline with proven success in managing change.
  • Operational experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG.
  • Knowledge of SSOW, World Class Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and practical understanding of factory services.
