The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development and key account management within industrial engineering environments (energy, chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, hydrogen) with a background in Civil or Structural Engineering.

  • A proven record of bidding and managing projects.
  • Experience mentoring staff and developing competencies.
  • Experience developing service offerings and expanding the client base.
  • At least twelve years of experience, preferably in an engineering consultancy.

The candidate we are looking for will have:

  • A degree in Engineering or a related subject.
  • Experience leading project delivery with a focus on:
  • H&S & Risk Management
  • Technical delivery
  • Cost control
  • Contractual management
  • Programme management

Leadership skills in managing multi-disciplinary design teams, including third-party suppliers such as architects and MEP professionals, are essential. Relevant membership of a professional institution (e.g., MICE, IStructE) is preferred.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Building strong internal relationships with the Runcorn and Grangemouth engineering teams.
  • Developing and maintaining internal and external networks for business development.
  • Ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborating with senior management to establish growth strategies.
  • Managing key clients.
  • Developing the technical capabilities of the engineering team.
  • Mentoring, motivating, and encouraging the Runcorn team.
  • Attending conferences and seminars.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to produce marketing materials, complete tenders, and identify themes for client and sector engagement.
