Engineering Assistant role

Role: Engineering Assistant Position

Location: Histon, Cambridge

Working Hours: Monday to Sunday, 5/7 days - 7am to 5pm, overtime will be offered as and when required

Rate of Pay: Up to £21.50 per hour depending on experience.

Capacity of Role: Temporary assignment for a 2-week duration

Our client is an engineering business looking to expand their team with engineering assistants to be part of a site shutdown. Candidates will need to be familiar with using hand and power tools and must be available to start on the 12th April.

Main Duties

• Assisting the engineers in the maintenance of site equipment
• Using hand and power tools to complete finished tasks
• Helping the engineers with a variety of tasks
• Ensuring all health and safety policies and procedures are upheld and adhered to
• Working as part of a team to fulfill required and allocated duties
• Communicating any problems to management onsite
• Fitting duties alongside the engineers

Candidate Attributes

• Experience working in a multi-skilled role
• Previous experience within an engineering-based environment
• Working knowledge of using hand and power tools
• Basic engineering knowledge to ensure duties are fulfilled smoothly and to a high standard
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work overtime as required by the client
• Own transport is required due to the location of the premises
