Operating out of 11 key ports and logistics centres across the UK, we are committed to retaining and developing talent nationwide.

A vacancy has arisen for four full time Engineering Apprentices at PD Ports within the Engineering Department comprising of three Maintenance Operations Engineering Technicians and one Building Services Engineering and Maintenance Engineer.

Location: Tees Dock Engineering Department, Tees Dock, Middlesbrough, TS6 6UD

Working Arrangements: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The role requires the individual to perform all work assigned efficiently, economically and to company safety and quality standards They will also gain a sound knowledge of the designated trade works with regards to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintenance of all assets, machinery, and services according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes.

The five main things our Engineering Apprentice will be working on are:

  • Ensure all duties are completed in line with RAMS, Company Health & Safety policy, and engineering process and procedures Also be pro-active in Risk Assessments compilation or reviewing.
  • Carry out any repair or maintenance work that is required under the instruction of a tradesman, whilst ensuring the area or workshop is left in a clean and safe condition.
  • Ensure all assigned tasks/Reports/Service sheets are completed within the specified timescales and to the best of your ability.
  • To gain knowledge and understanding of other aspects of the Company's operations by participating in Company assigned training / projects as and when required
  • Gain hands on operational experience by assisting the Maintenance Team.

We Are Seeking Someone Who

  • To complete the required academic and practical training requirements of the apprenticeship.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of people.
  • Good time management skill and have the correct attitude and behaviour that is an example to others whilst using own initiative.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and understand level of responsibility within the team.
