The apprentice will work in 2-3 person teams, remotely maintaining Nottingham Trams infrastructure across Nottingham & Nottinghamshire. Responsibilities include:

  1. Performing planned maintenance on track, switches & crossings, signalling systems, power generation & distribution, overhead lines, and civil infrastructure.
  2. Responding to faults, failures, or disruptions to maintain or restore tram services, ensuring safety for the public and staff by following safe systems of work.
  3. Using specialist tools and equipment to carry out tasks.
  4. Undertaking vocational training, which may include certifications such as Forklift (Counterbalance), IPAF (3A, 3B, 1B), HVAP, NRSWA (Operative), HGV (Category C), PASMA (Tower), along with internal and external training sessions.

The role involves working on an 8-week roster: early shifts (06:00 - 14:00), late shifts (14:00 - 22:00), night shifts (22:00 - 06:00 every 16 weeks), including weekends. Due to night work requirements, applicants must be aged 18 or above.
