Manufacturing Engineer – Non-Exempt

The primary role will be assisting engineers on current projects with activities such as creating tooling and fixtures, writing manufacturing documents, developing processes, and preparing presentations. They may interface with design engineering, quality engineering, machine operators, and customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Support process development and characterization tasks.
  2. Troubleshoot and support tooling and processing line layouts to ensure lean flow.
  3. Support review and approval of contract manufacturing work instructions and training materials.
  4. Duties associated with operation function in product development and process validation of a new product family located in low-cost manufacturing region through a contract manufacturer.
  5. Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database).
  6. Inspection of work instructions.
  7. Tooling design modifications for improved production efficiency.
  8. Create and/or improve on systems that optimize the efficiency of material flow throughout the facility.
  9. Develop the most efficient and cost-effective manufacturing process, and sequence of production operations from blueprints, quality documents, and purchase orders.
  10. Coordinate production processes by creating operation sheets and providing all manufacturing related information.
  11. Create material process requisitions with technical data requirements for special manufacturing processes.
  12. Research and develop process sheets with proper work instructions for the operators, inspectors, and shipping.
  13. Act as a liaison for the shop process development, integrating with management, shop personnel, purchasing, production control, vendors, and customers to make the job as productive as possible.
  14. Interact with various internal functions to provide manufacturing engineering support for production.
  15. Participate in Root Cause Analysis and implementation of Corrective Actions.
  16. Various other duties as assigned by Manager.
  17. Perform other related duties or responsibilities as requested or required, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description.

Must be a “US Person” as defined by US Government and able to work without restriction with ITAR related data.

Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level.

Participate in training as required.

5-10% Domestic Travel required.

Some lifting, moving instrumentation, performing tests in various areas of the facility required.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 35 lbs.

Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility.

Work Environment:

Work usually performed in a combination of office and plant setting.

Requirements:

  1. Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related field of Engineering.
  2. Current GPA 3.0 or higher.
  3. Good communication skills will be required to support technical discussions with other functions.
  4. Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
  5. Demonstrated record or desire of the self-directed management of multiple tasks in a high-tempo manufacturing environment.
  6. A determined commitment to overcome challenges in order to resolve issues and accomplish both company and personal objectives.
