Reporting to the Engineering Support Manager, the mission of the role is to:
- Be responsible for the end-to-end process for engineered products & non-standard Liquid ring pumps, enquiries/orders, new product/replacement bareshaft Liquid Ring Pump and parts supply for global product companies & end users, including responsibility for timely response to enquiries, pricing, proposals, order input & liaising with suppliers.
- Provide in-depth technical support to customers, group companies, and distributors with instant response and quality service from a single point of contact, maximising Edwards' opportunities from each customer contact.
- Lead the Engineered Products Team.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as the front-line customer contact for queries relating to non-standard spares, new build liquid ring pumps, and supply to other product companies, including Bolton, and be an escalation point for customer care with the goal of increasing sales.
- Possess technical knowledge of rotating equipment, especially liquid ring pumps, with experience in vacuum pumps being an advantage.
- Demonstrate excellent customer interfacing, commercial acumen, and strong administration and organisation skills, with involvement in technical sales.
- Provide technical advice on maintenance, spares identification, and support pre- or post-equipment sale.
- Support growth of the spares business and internal sales (systems & solutions, multiple product companies), including setting margins and maintaining profitability.
- Manage customer interface with approximately 5 product companies, 30 European customer care account handlers, 50 worldwide distributors, all Group companies, and around 2000 English-speaking European customers.
- Functionally manage staff involving BOM creation, parts ordering, delivery, and handling customer queries and quotations.
- Support sub-contracted production activities related to LRP manufacturing, driving production progress and schedule planning in collaboration with the supply chain team.
- Handle MAPICS/SAP transactions, material requisitions, expediting, customer liaison, and reporting on enquiry/order status within Edwards.
- Contribute to Edwards’s customer response efforts by dealing directly with customers and providing second-line support to sales and customer service teams.
Skills / Experience
- Degree in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience in product support or technical sales.
- In-depth knowledge of the process industry, oil & gas, and industrial vacuum is an advantage.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly verbal, to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with attention to detail to operate sophisticated computerised systems reliably.
- High personal motivation to succeed.
- Commercial sensitivity, with the ability to promote trust and integrity in business negotiations.
