Scale 5/6 (£27,711 - £32,654) - this role is eligible for an Essential Car User allowance of up to £963 per annum.

Your Role

We are looking for someone with highway maintenance experience to join the team. You will support in delivering highway planned maintenance services (structural and preventative maintenance) across the borough, assisting with the delivery of the work programme.

About You

Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment. You will be capable of managing a range of footway and carriageway maintenance schemes from patching to full reconstruction works.

System training and support will be provided.

The successful applicant will be required to carry out daily site visits using their own vehicle and will need the necessary insurance for this type of use. The Council has a scheme in place to reimburse employees who are required to use their vehicle for business purposes.

About Us

Working as part of the Network Asset Maintenance team you will be involved in the following:

  • Scoping work and providing specifications for maintenance schemes
  • Dealing with complaints and enquiries from the public and elected Members
  • Inspection and maintenance of car parks, highway walls and safety barriers
  • Updating highway asset information in our data management systems Confirm and QGIS
  • Presentation of asset data using GIS mapping
  • Checking and payment of accounts
  • Overseeing the delivery of maintenance schemes

  • Pitney Bowes - Confirm System
  • Mapping Information: QGIS
  • Other: Microsoft Office 365, SAP, Pecos
