Job summary

Carnival UK is seeking a Server Engineer to administer and support critical server and storage infrastructure across head office, global locations and cruise ships. You will deliver complex technical projects, maintain high availability, and drive improvements with automation across Windows and Linux environments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Server Engineer or third-line support role within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of virtualisation technologies such as VMware and hyperconverged infrastructure solutions.
• Experience supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy and core infrastructure services including DNS and DHCP.
• A strong understanding of backup, disaster recovery and IT service management principles, supported by relevant IT qualifications.

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience in a Server Engineer or third-line support role within complex enterprise environments.


• Strong knowledge of virtualisation technologies such as VMware and hyperconverged infrastructure solutions.


• Experience supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy and core infrastructure services including DNS and DHCP.


• A strong understanding of backup, disaster recovery and IT service management principles, supported by relevant professional IT qualifications.


• Practical experience administering enterprise Linux systems, ideally Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Oracle Linux.


• Working knowledge of enterprise storage, SAN technologies, data protection and recovery principles.


• Strong skills in maintaining support documentation, building standards, operational procedures and knowledge articles.


• Experience using automation and scripting tools such as PowerShell, Ansible, Bash or Python to improve operational efficiency.
