Position Summary:
The Product Development Engineer supports projects from concept to final hardware delivery and volume production. Projects range from trade studies and thermal analysis to prototype fabrication and testing. The engineer manages multiple projects, engaging in all product development stages. Hands-on experience in prototype fabrication is highly valued.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Designing initial products through:
    • Innovative concepts
    • Analytical analysis (Excel or hand calculations)
    • 3-D CAD modeling (SolidWorks)
    • CFD/FEA analysis
    • Creating 2-D drawings
    • Developing fabrication procedures and work instructions
  • Collaborating with engineers and technicians
  • Managing schedules and budgets
  • Communicating with customers regularly

Requirements:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks), FEA (SolidWorks), and CFD software (Autodesk Simulation, Fluent, Comsol)
  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM), prototype hardware fabrication, and testing is a plus
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. Person (per 22 C.F.R. §120.15) due to ITAR restrictions
