Project Overview

The Future Generation Joint Venture, comprising WeBuild, Clough, and Lane, has been selected to design and construct Snowy 2.0—one of the largest pumped hydro schemes globally, located within the Snowy Mountains, NSW.

Snowy 2.0 marks a significant milestone in Australia's renewable energy landscape, offering on-demand power and large-scale storage, and continues the legacy of the Snowy Scheme as a historic and iconic project.

Role Purpose

Manage dewatering systems and water treatment networks across Snowy 2.0, including design, maintenance, procurement, construction, performance monitoring, revamping, retrofitting, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support monitoring and troubleshooting of treatment plants, reporting to the senior engineer and working independently within a small team.
  • Revise design documents such as BFDs, PFDs, and P&IDs.
  • Maintain quality and inventory of laboratory operations.
  • Compile, clean, and interpret historical data in Excel.
  • Assist with design basis, calculations, drafting, reporting, and laboratory tests in office and field settings.
  • Possess a Hydraulic or Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Hold a valid White Card and have completed 3-4 years of a graduate program.
  • Demonstrate high proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD for drawings and P&IDs.
  • Understand water and wastewater plant operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and chemical processes.
  • Maintain continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Previous site experience in tunneling, dewatering, mining water treatment, or industrial maintenance is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with procurement, supply chain, water quality regulations, and standards (e.g., ADWG, WSA, EPA).
  • Knowledge of process control instrumentation and online analyzers.
  • Hydraulic background and experience with chemical forecasting are beneficial.
  • Commit to safety within HSEQ systems.
  • Exhibit strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and collaborate effectively.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and willing to learn and share knowledge.
  • Establish rapport with operators and be hands-on with site tasks.
