Qualifications

  • At least two years’ experience as a plumber or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements.
  • Experience with commercial or industrial heating and water systems.

Job Role: Mechanical Engineer/plumber

Location: The Mount

Salary: £36,000

Contract: Full time / Permanent

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to join our team at HMP The Mount, a category C prison. Join a team that works Monday to Sunday as a supportive family, ensuring a safe environment. The Facilities Maintenance Team is committed to the smooth and safe operation of the facility, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference. We encourage applicants who want to use their skills to create a better future and promote rehabilitation.

Requirements include:

  • At least two years’ experience as a plumber or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Water Supply Regulation and Legionella L8 requirements
  • Experience with commercial or industrial heating and water systems
  • Understanding of health and safety standards
  • Qualifications: C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and Heating), NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent
  • Good health and safety knowledge
  • Strong organizational and people skills
