Job Title: Level 3 Mechanical Engineer (Plumbing)

Location:

HMP Eastwood Park, Falfield, Wotton-under-Edge, GL12 8DB

Salary:

£41,000 per annum

Contract:

Full Time, 39 hours per week, Mon-Fri, Permanent

Job Description:

We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer (Plumber) with NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 to join our team at HMP Eastwood Park, an adult female prison. Join a supportive team committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment. As a Level 3 Mechanical Engineer, you will work alongside experienced colleagues in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, cleaning, and administrative roles, all dedicated to making a positive impact.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out plumbing and mechanical maintenance tasks
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Participating in planned preventive maintenance
  • Working with a range of plumbing and mechanical systems, including heating, ventilation, and water supply
Qualifications and Experience:
  • C&G 6189 Plumbing and domestic heating or equivalent
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial heating, water, or building service systems
  • Two years’ experience as a plumber or similar role
  • Knowledge of Water supply regulation and Legionella L8 requirements
  • Good understanding of health and safety standards
  • Desirable: Unvented water heater vessel course G3, L8 awareness training
