Mechanical Engineer (Level 3)
Location: HMP East Sutton Park
Salary: £41,818.21
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (39hrs per week)

Job Overview

We are seeking a Level 3 qualified Plumber to join our team at HMP East Sutton Park, a CATEGORY D & Female prison, as a Mechanical Engineer.

Join a supportive team working Monday to Friday to create a safe and nurturing environment. HMP East Sutton Park operates like a self-contained town, requiring many dedicated staff to ensure smooth functioning. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, your work will impact prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

Team and Environment

You will collaborate with experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Use your skills to improve safety and functionality within the prison environment.
  • Qualifications include C&G 6189, 5962, 6019, 6018, 6129, 214, 6188, 6032, EAL Diploma in Plumbing and Heating, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in commercial or industrial heating, water, or building service systems.
  • Desirable: Unvented water heater vessel course G3, L8 awareness training.
  • Two years' experience as a plumber or similar role.
  • Knowledge of Water supply regulations and Legionella L8 requirements.
  • Understanding of planned preventive maintenance and health & safety standards.
