Job summary

Speedy is recruiting a Mechanical Engineer for our Lancaster depot. The role focuses on mechanical repairs, assembly and servicing of our range of industrial tools and lifting equipment. You will be based on site, working with a supportive team to keep equipment available and safe.

The role offers on-the-job training, opportunities for development, and a commitment to Work Life Balance and flexible start/finish times where possible.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical engineering experience is essential.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Able to work under pressure and as part of a team.
• Ability to support ESG Strategy delivery by the business unit.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs, assembly and servicing on our range of industrial products.
• Prioritise repairs and maintenance to keep equipment available.
• Support lifecycle maintenance of power tools and lifting equipment.
• Collaborate with depot team to ensure safe, compliant operations.

Mechanical Engineer

plays a key role in our operations, performing mechanical repairs, assembly and servicing on our range of industrial products such as power tools and lifting equipment, ensuring that all repairs and maintenance of equipment is prioritised effectively.

For us to help you on your journey to success, here’s what you will need:

• Previous mechanical engineering experience is essential, ideally gained within the hire industry or other engineering field
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Able to work under pressure and as part of a team
• Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.
