Job Description:

Baines Simmons is recruiting for an Associate Engineer Licensing / Part 147/66 Consultant and Trainer to join the team in making a difference to customers across Consulting, Training, and Managed Services. You will be pivotal to strategy delivery, continuous improvement of the portfolio, and exploitation of SMARRT MAP.

This role is home-based, with travel required. You should be willing to travel within Britain and internationally, including long-haul trips, such as to New Zealand, to assist with licensing systems and processes.

This is an associate position, with work on an ad-hoc basis, paid on a negotiable daily rate. There is potential for future conversion to a permanent role depending on business needs.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of products and services, focusing on client satisfaction, quality standards, and continuous improvement.
  2. Supporting product development by monitoring product health, industry best practices, customer feedback, and competitive products.
  3. Providing expertise during pre-sales to scope customer needs and propose solutions, supporting account growth.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Knowledge and practical experience of Civil Aircraft Engineer Licensing, specifically Part 147 and Part 66, with a background in Maintenance Training School management, QA, instruction, or examination.
  • Understanding of compliance, human factors, and risk management in a regulatory environment.
  • Experience working with a regulator is desirable but not essential.
  • A passion for making aviation safer and a desire for continuous self and team development.
  • Ability to build trust and influence others.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
  • Experience in training, consulting, project management, and training design and development.
  • Strong industry network and experience working with regulators.
