Environmental Conditions
Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Laboratory Setting, some PPE required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs), exposure to strong odors (chemicals, lubricants, biological products), and working with hazardous/toxic materials.

The Opportunity: Become a Field Service Engineer supporting Molecular and Chromatography instrumentation across Scotland, the Borders, and Northeast UK, with occasional travel throughout the UK and Ireland. Responsibilities include installations, repairs, maintenance, and technical support for equipment like FTIR, NIR, UV-Vis, HPLC, and others.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver outstanding customer service with high first-time fix rates.
  2. Follow safety and internal guidelines during field service duties.
  3. Support UV-Vis/FTIR/Molecular, Chromatography, and Sample Preparation instruments.
  4. Resolve technical issues efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction.
  5. Use web-based tools to enhance product and service delivery.
  6. Coordinate with dispatch and team leaders for scheduling.
  7. Manage company assets including parts inventory, tools, and company vehicle.
  8. Accurately report service activities and expenses.

Your Background:

  1. Background in Electronics, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or related fields.
  2. At least 1 year experience in servicing analytical equipment or end-user support; knowledge of UV-Vis/FTIR/Molecular instrumentation and chromatography is a plus.
  3. Self-motivated with strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  4. Proficient in PC use and familiar with relevant software applications.
  5. Valid UK Driving Licence and ability to travel within the territory, including occasional overnight stays.
  6. Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
