Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers Ltd is seeking an experienced Highways Engineer (Maintenance and Design) for a hybrid role in Doncaster. The role combines office-based design work with regular site visits to support a busy highways maintenance programme.

You will manage schemes from initial investigation through to procurement, construction and completion, with hands-on site supervision and technical provision. Immediate start on a contract until April 2027 at £45/hour Inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in highways maintenance design and scheme delivery.
• Experience with existing highway networks (not only new developments).
• Ability to drive projects from investigation through to construction and completion.
• Experience with levelling, setting-out, site measurements.
• Experience preparing Bills of Quantities and tender documents.
• Strong site supervision and construction support experience.

Highways Engineer (Maintenance and Design)

Location: Doncaster (Hybrid - minimum 3 days per week in the office, plus site visits)
Rate: £45 per hour (Inside IR35)
Contract: Until April 2027
Start Date: Immediate

The Role

• Strong site supervision and construction support experience.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple schemes.

Local authority highways experience and relevant engineering qualifications are desirable.
