Job Summary

You are applying for the position of Design Engineer in the field of EWIS Installation Design, at our Fokker Elmo Canada (FE-CA) office. This role involves supporting ongoing design activities with one of our main customers in Montreal, assessing and incorporating design changes into existing Data Sets at the customer’s premises. You will also support Fokker Elmo’s Manufacturing Engineering team on site as needed. You will be part of a small design team based partly in Hoogerheide, Netherlands, and partly in Montreal.

Job Responsibilities
  • 3D modelling of EWIS concepts and trade-studies using CatiaV5, aligned with modification specifications, and discussing these with the customer.
  • Incorporating approved solutions into the Design Data Set, using Enovia and Fokker Elmo specific tools to manage models and electrical properties.
  • Representing Fokker Elmo in customer integration meetings.
  • Assessing the impact of Change Requests on the Design Data Sets, considering technical feasibility and effort.
  • Ensuring compliance with design requirements, and documenting any non-compliance and mitigations when necessary.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, preferably Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in EWIS Installation Design, especially in 3D modelling with CatiaV5.
  • Experience in quality reviews of Design Data Sets.
  • Ability to work under ITAR/EAR regulations and program requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with GKN Aerospace.
  • Knowledge of Airworthiness Regulations and DOA (Part 21J).
  • Proficiency in CatiaV5 (electrical workbench) and Enovia.
  • Understanding of configuration management and technical requirements interpretation.
  • Good knowledge of Aircraft Systems and their EWIS implications.
  • Mechanical design understanding for EWIS interfaces.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Ability to participate professionally in customer design reviews.
